Field Dayz is the Illawarra's largest outdoor dog daycare, built specifically for medium and large breed dogs. With 4 acres of grassed paddocks, expert supervision, and plenty of space to run, wrestle, and explore, we guarantee your pup will come home tired, happy, and ready for a nap.
Hi there! I'm Laura, and welcome to Field Dayz—my dream brought to life on four acres of pure doggy paradise.
Unlike a lot of people in this industry, I didn't always plan to work with pets. I actually studied Conservation Ecology and Zoology with the hope to move to the States to work rehabilitating wolf-dogs. But when I took a job at a local dog daycare to learn canine behavior, everything changed. Within weeks, I realized this—being surrounded by happy, boisterous dogs every single day—was exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
I managed that daycare for four years before taking the leap to create Field Dayz, and I've never looked back. There's truly nothing like spending your day outside (rain, shine, or somewhere in between) with a pack of playful pups living their best lives on wide-open grass.
Why do we only take medium to large breed dogs?
That's easy: Big dogs have big needs. As people's days get busier and houses get smaller, it's our working breed and large breed dogs that are missing out. Backyards are a quarter of the size they used to be, and our favourite family members deserve the opportunity to truly stretch their legs.
At Field Dayz, we understand that big dogs play differently—they're physical, energetic, and need space to move without holding back. When you mix size classes, someone always has to compromise. Here, your kelpie can sprint full speed, your shepherd can wrestle without hesitation, and your staffy can play with the strength and enthusiasm they're known for.
How do we manage the dogs?
I see my role as a teacher supervising a playground, not a playmate. My team and I are constantly reading body language, monitoring energy levels, and ensuring everyone's playing fair, safe, and respectful. Some dogs need encouragement to join in. Others need boundaries to settle down. But every dog receives the individual attention they need to thrive.
Every member of our crew brings years of hands-on experience. Some hold animal-based degrees, and all are trained in pet first aid and dog behavior. We don't just love dogs—we understand them. We know that a kelpie's needs are different from a staffy's, and that what works on Tuesday might not work on Thursday. We adapt, we supervise, and we provide genuine, tailored care.
Can you trust us with your dog?
Absolutely. We follow Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) standards, carry liability insurance, and partner with Dapto Veterinary Clinic for emergencies. We've been doing this long enough to know what works—and what doesn't.
Field Dayz isn't fancy. We don't have bubble machines or themed play areas. What we offer is 4 acres of open space, experienced professionals who know what they're doing, and big dogs living their best lives.
If your dog needs room to run and a place where they can simply be a dog—this is it.
Let's make every day a field day. 🐾

Situated just 15 minutes south of Wollongong, we operate out of 4 acres of grassed paddocks for your pup to explore. With this much space, we guarantee your pup will come home tired and happy.

Heading out to work? No worries! We provide our very own Dog Taxi service. We arrange pick-ups from your home at a pre-agreed time and will return your pup delightfully tired in the late afternoon.

We are firm believers that tired pups are happy pups. With 5 hours of supervised play, your pup has the freedom to follow their hearts desires whether that be running, splashing, sniffing or napping.
